Blairadam Forest
Updated: Feb 25, 2022
Just along the road from Townhill Country Park is Blairadam Forest. There are a number of trails to choose from and they all offer something a bit different from the aforementioned country park.

There are 2 or 3 different carparks to choose from down the road towards the walk but we go to the carpark right at the bottom of it. It is a large carpark and there are (usually) plenty of spaces available. There are sadly no toilets available so you'll need to prepare for this. However needs must, so if it comes to it Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy are only short drives away where you'll be able to find a McDonald's etc. with accessible toilets.
Once you are all sorted and make your way on the trail out of the carpark you will see posts at the side of the path with yellow, red, and blue ribbons. The different represent different trails (with different lengths). I have taken pictures of the yellow and blue trails (the second picture gallery is of the blue trail).
eThe path is quite a good, solid surface without potholes but it is best suited for either an electric wheelchair or scooter. I'd imagine a walking stick would be fine also but you'll know what your abilities are better than me.
These are pictures from the blue trail..
This walk is shorter than the yellow trail however the surface of the path is similar until it becomes a narrower and more uneven grey stoned path. Once again I'd say it is far better suited to an electric wheelchair or scooter.
There are inclines and declines on all of the trails but the ones on the blue trail are far steeper.
It is worth attempting though, an 'accessible' walk in the woods is always good to clear the head.
